Requirements

  • Internet Explorer
  • 802.11b/g Wireless Card
  • All Current Windows Critical Updates
  • Campus Connect Username and Password
  • Wireless VPN Client - Available Here

Connecting To Wireless

  1. To connect to DePaul's wireless network, right click on the Wireless Network Connection icon that is in your System Tray and choose View Available Networks.



  2. When the Wireless Network Connection window opens, locate the DePaul wireless network called DePaulBlue, click on it to highlight it, and then click Connect button located on the bottom right of the window.



Installing the Wireless VPN Client

  1. Download the DePaul Wireless VPN Connection client by clicking on the link below:
    http://wireless.depaul.edu/downloads/depaul-aventailconnect-windows.exe

  2. When the following file download dialog box appears, click Run.



  3. When the following file download security warning dialog box appears, click Run.



  4. The Aventail Connect Setup Wizard will start to run, while it's running you will see the following screen. Installation should only take a few minutes.



Logging Into the Wireless Network

  1. Double click the DePaul Wireless VPN Connection icon on your desktop.



    If the installer did not put an icon on your desktop, you can find it in the Start Menu then Programs then Aventail as shown below:



  2. Enter your Campus Connect Username and Password into the VPN Client and click Connect to access the wireless network.

    If you do not remember your Campus Connect Username and Password please visit https://campusconnect.depaul.edu or call the Technology Contact Center at x28765 or 312-362-8765.



  3. Once the VPN Connection is established, the DePaul Wireless VPN Connection icon and a bubble pop-up will appear in your system tray stating that you are connected to the network.



Disconnecting from the Wireless VPN

  1. When you are finished, right click on the DePaul Wireless VPN Connection icon in your system tray and choose Disconnect.
